Scotland's Northern Islands Challenge
26 August - 6 September
Join us “up North” as we embark on a journey south through some of Scotland’s most amazing Islands. Board in the Shetland Capital of Lerwick, home to some incredible history. With briefings completed and checks made it won’t be long before we slip lines and head south. Objective number one will definitely be to explore a bit of these wonderful islands right at the top of Scotland!
Our first offshore leg will then see us migrate south, leaving the shores of Shetland behind. Weather permitting landing on Fair Isle, a big tick box for many, will be priority, with time to explore ashore somewhere that is truly a once in a lifetime stop!
Continuing our journey south our aim will be to land on the Northern shores of the Orkney Islands. With amazing scenery and the possibility to see some incredible wildlife there may not be time to do it all! Arriving into the capital Kirkwall, there will be time to explore this amazing capital, and a distillery or two, before we slip lines for the last part of our journey.
Our last leg in this journey takes us south, across the tidal races of the Pentland Firth, heading for the Highland capital of Inverness. With a number of well known locations to explore as you travel south, the skipper will be keeping a keen eye on the weather to make the best routing decisions before you arrive into Inverness Marina.
